Chris Rhoades is originally from California. After success in a variety of businesses, he moved to Maine in 2003 with his wife, Maine-native Karee. Chris is the CEO and founder of Rhoades Building Products, which was incorporated in 2004 for the purpose of acquiring H.F. Pinkham.
H.F. Pinkham is a building materials company founded in 1966 by Harry Pinkham. With locations in Machias and Milbridge, Harry Pinkham and later his son, David, created a strong, healthy company serving the building needs of Washington County contractors.
Following two years of steady growth, Rhoades Building Products opened an Ellsworth location in early 2007. The Ellsworth showroom features Maine’s only design center for Jeld-Wen, the largest window and door manufacturer in the world.
On November 6, 2007 Rhoades Building Products completed the acquisition of Granville Lumber, a company founded in 1985 with locations in Holden and Blue Hill. Granville Lumber was started in 1985 by Ned Jennings, a Maine business man who, like David Pinkham, has a strong work ethic and a commitment to serving his customers well.
Rhoades Building Products’ president and day to day manager, Steve Veilleux, is a well-respected industry veteran. Steve comes from a family background of home construction and has worked with masonry, tile, cabinetry, granite -- basically just about every building product. He has been a part of the management team of Rhoades Building Products since its inception.
All five locations will carry the Rhoades Building Products name and the commitment to excellence in serving the professional builder, the homeowner and commercial contractor.
