NEWS RELEASE Governor Joins In Welcoming Rhoades Building Products to Region “I’m excited about our newest project” stated Chris Rhoades, CEO of Rhoades Building Products, “I like to tell people that I fell in love twice. Once with my wife and once with the state of Maine. I’m glad to be here. I’m glad to be raising my family here. And I’m glad to be a part of the future prosperity of this region.” Rhoades moved to Maine in 2004 with his wife, Maine-native Karee Rhoades. He believes in the future of Maine and is enthusiastic about the central Maine and downeast regions. “We have such wonderful natural resources here and i see the many drivers that will fuel long term growth for the region,” says Rhoades. “In the areas we serve I can immediately think of new ventures and opportunities with the Canadian border crossing project, Cianbro’s development of a manufacturing facility in Brewer, and the arrival of Oxford Networks and their fiberoptics network to the region. Now, with our newest venture, we can add Rhoades Building Products to that list.” "This is a positive step for the local work force," stated Governor John Baldacci. “It reinforces the idea that Maine is open for business.” The deal, finalized November 6, 2007, combines Granville Lumber, newly opened Rhoades Building Products in Ellsworth, and Washington County-based H.F. Pinkham in a single company called Rhoades Building Products. The new company will have locations in Holden, Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Milbridge, and Machias. The new company will carry on the commitment to excellence and serving the professional builder, homeowner, and commercial contractor. |
